Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for Focus on Prep (focusonprep.com). It applies together with your statutory rights. For purchases made in the Republic of Korea, nothing in this policy limits the rights granted to you under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (전자상거래 등에서의 소비자보호에 관한 법률) and related digital-content guidelines.
1. How our plans are billed
Every plan grants a fixed access period— 1 month (30 days), 3 months (90 days), or 6 months (180 days) — as a one-time purchase. Plans do not auto-renew, and you are never charged automatically. When your access period ends, you simply choose whether to purchase more time. Because there is no recurring charge, there is no separate “subscription” to cancel — access ends on its own at the end of the paid period.
2. Service delivery & provision period (배송 · 서비스 제공기간)
- Delivery: the service is delivered digitally. Access to all paid content is activated on your account immediately upon payment confirmation — typically within one minute. Nothing is physically shipped.
- Provision period: the service is provided for the fixed access period of the plan you purchased — 30 days (1-Month), 90 days (3-Month), or 180 days (6-Month) — starting at payment confirmation.
- If access is not activated within 10 minutes of a successful payment, contact us (Section 11) and we will activate it or refund you in full.
3. Free trial
New accounts include a 7-day free trial with no payment and no card required. Since the trial is free, there is nothing to refund — if you choose not to purchase, your access simply ends when the trial expires.
4. 7-day cooling-off period (full refund · 청약철회)
You may request a full refund within 7 days of your purchase if you have not yet used the paid service — that is, after paying you have not answered practice questions, started a full-length test, run a vocabulary session, or otherwise accessed paid content.
For customers in Korea, this reflects the right of withdrawal (청약철회) under Article 17 of the Act referenced above. Note that for digital content, once delivery or use has begun with your agreement, the right of withdrawal may be limited as permitted by law — see Section 5. So that you can evaluate the service before this limitation applies, we provide a free 7-day trial before any purchase, and this limitation is also disclosed on the checkout screen before you pay.
5. After you’ve started using the service (취소 규정)
Access is sold by time and delivered immediately as digital content. If you begin using the paid service within the 7-day window and then request a refund, we issue a pro-rated refund for the unused portion: we deduct the value of the days already elapsed since purchase and refund the remainder.
After 7 days, purchases are generally non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law or where Section 7 (service faults) applies. We may still, at our discretion, offer account credit or additional time for exceptional circumstances.
6. Exchanges & plan changes (교환)
Focus on Prepis a fully digital service, so there are no physical goods to exchange or return. If you purchased the wrong plan or want to switch to a different plan, contact us (Section 11): within the 7-day window we will cancel the original purchase under Sections 4–5 and help you purchase the plan you intended, and after that window we will credit the unused value of your current plan toward the new one wherever reasonably possible.
7. Service faults
If a defect on our side prevents you from using the service and we are unable to resolve it within a reasonable time after you report it, you may request a pro-rated refund for the affected period, regardless of how long ago you purchased.
8. How refunds are issued
- Refunds are returned to your original payment method through our payment provider, PortOne, and the original processor (KG Inicis for KRW card payments; PayPal for international payments).
- Approved refunds are initiated within 3 business days of your refund (withdrawal) request, as required by Article 18 of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce; the time for the credit to appear then depends on your card issuer (typically a few business days).
- PayPal refunds are returned to your PayPal account or funding source per PayPal’s standard timeline.
- Refunds are issued in the original currency and amount of the purchase (USD or KRW). We do not cover third-party currency-conversion differences or bank fees.
9. How to request a refund or cancellation
Email support@focusonprep.com with the subject “Refund Request” and include the email address on your account and the approximate purchase date. We reply within 1–2 business days and initiate eligible refunds within 3 business days of your request.
10. Chargebacks
If something’s wrong with your purchase, please contact us first — we’ll make it right faster than a dispute can. Filing a chargeback without contacting us may result in your account being suspended while the dispute is investigated.
